Conference and SHIMEI Star Influential Awards were established to celebrate individuals and organizations making strides in promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment across various sectors in Ghana and beyond.
At the inaugural IWD Include Conference, the spotlight shone brightly on the maiden SHIMEI Star Influential Awards, powered by @shimeisolutions. The event was a powerful celebration of empowerment, where remarkable individuals and organizations were honored for their contributions to promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment.
With over 19 years of experience in customer relations, training, and life coaching, Samantha Wuta-Ofei also known as LadySam, has dedicated her career to empowering individuals, especially professional women. Six years ago, she founded a platform designed to provide women with the opportunity to make an impact through empowerment conferences. These events became a space for women to share their stories, enhance their leadership skills, and inspire others. Her work has focused on uplifting women across various industries, helping them to realize their full potential.
The SHIMEI Star Influential Awards is an annual event that celebrates individuals and organizations making significant strides in gender equality and women’s empowerment. The ‘Include Her’ Conference and SHIMEI Star Influential Awards serve as a platform to honor those who are tirelessly working to uplift women and create lasting change across Ghana and beyond.
During this year’s awards ceremony, a special moment of giving took place. A donation was made to the Teshie Children’s Home, an organization founded by Janet Anyeley Parker, the recipient of the Woman of the Year Award. The home has been a beacon of hope for children in the community, and Janet’s work continues to inspire those around her.
The donation, amounting to 3185 GHS, was raised through contributions at the awards ceremony. Host LadySam personally visited the Teshie Children’s Home to present the cheque, where the children and staff warmly received the gesture. This donation stands as a testament to the collective effort and compassion of those who attended the event.
